My oh my, we love pie

Who needs cupcakes when you can have pie.
We here at Tryst, the Diner and Open City love our pies. And luckily we're not the only ones either. The Washington Post All-You-Can-Eat blog recently followed around Chris Chen on his search for pie, and he chose to get the sour cherry pie at the Diner. Our secret to our pies, isn't necessarily an ingredient, but a hard working pastry chef and his team. Sol Schott and co. are consistently prepping, cutting, mixing and baking pies here at Open City. We deliver them to our sister restaurants fresh daily, because nobody wants a stale pie. Our most popular over all is the apple pie, closely followed by the sour cherry crumb pie. Those two pies are consistently on the menu, but we rotate a few others in and out on a seasonal basis. We recently had a capuccino custard that was creamy and cafe-licious. The sweet potato with toasted marshmallows is a nice winter hit. Those toasted marshmallows always remind me of good times around a campfire and telling stories late at night in the woods. It's good when a pie can send you on a random tangent like that. My personal favorite though is the blueberry pie. One part tart, one part sweet. It's coming back March 1st and I'm gonna have me a slice.
